CASE
Abacá is based on an old Filipino tradition of making clothes from the fiber of the abacá plant and therefore makes it compostable.
For a more circular fashion industry, that gives back to nature.

Globally just 12% of the material used for clothing ends up being recycled. We need a new way to produce clothing that's environmentally friendly and makes it easily accessible to the masses.
A design e-commerce website that sells compostable clothes.
Make it easy to understand the product and why it’s a good alternative. The design should be appealing to the target user and easy to navigate.
I started my process with the research of target users and external analysis. With this, I created relevant interview questions to understand the users needs and desires.
During my prototyping, I did user tests to see if the design was easily navigated and what impression the user got based on the draft. Thereafter I iterate based on what I learned.
Research – Empathize – Ideate
Wireframe – User Tests – Iterate
Design – User Tests– Iterate
Based on the research and interview I did, I created Personas to better understand the target user.
I wanted to create a brand that felt environmentally friendly and to build a direct connection to the company.
The color choice is influenced by nature, and the pale yellow color is of the same hue as that of an undyed textile made from the abacá plant.
The logo is also a simplified icon of the abacá plant flower.
A design that builds trust with its users through transparency.
Informative and to the point, but at the same time exciting and fashion-oriented.
I've learned that I should have good insight into who the website is being designed for. How to build trust with the user, and how to design to easily understand information.
I got to learn how to build a brand and how much fun it is.
